Hair Ott have hit success with the first trial of their traineeship scheme.
Eight aspiring hairdressers completed a 13 week course; which gave them the opportunity to experience life as a Hair Ott apprentice. This provided them with a better understanding of hairdressing, including how to shampoo, apply colour and style hair.
During the 13 weeks these talented trainees worked towards an ‘Award in Preparation for a Successful Career in the Hair Industry’. After completion an award ceremony was held and they were all presented with their certificates and an SP Wella gift set.
All eight traineeships were signed onto their apprenticeship and are now raring to go!
Trainee Lucie Brown, commented:
“I have loved every minute of my traineeship; it’s scary how much I have learnt in just 13 weeks. I can’t wait to start my apprenticeship and become a great hairdresser”
Karen Moore, Head of Talent for Hair Ott commented:
“We are pleased with the successful first run of the traineeship. They have all worked incredibly hard, during their practical, theory and functional skills. We have watched them all grow over a short period of time and cannot wait to watch them grow into successful Hair Ott designers.”
On Tuesday 20th May 2014 all our apprentices took part in the H’Ott Hair Talent Competition. The competition was a chance for all our future hairdressing stars to showcase their talent in front of a panel of judges – David and Tom from David Anthony Hairdressers alongside Otto and Barbara.
The competition had two categories:
Category 1: ‘Individual Award’ – Each competitor presented a model with a fashion focused hairstyle and colour. There were no barriers to their creativity.
Category 2: ‘Salon Team Award’ – As a team each salon presented a male and female model with salon wearable styles.
And the winners were:
Alice Atkins, Waterlooville for the Individual Award
Waterlooville Salon for Salon Team Award
Also highly commended:
Laura Brent for the Best Presentation
Lucy Feltham for the Best Moodboard
Katie Ibbotson for the Best Cut
Sam Meredith for the Best Colour

We have joined forces with one of the UKs best training providers, HTP training, to deliver hairdressing apprenticeships in the South East.
Together we are combining Hair Ott’s award winning knowledge of Hairdressing training with HTP’s speciality of designing and delivery of apprenticeships. Our aim is to create a hairdressing apprenticeship programme which understands the learner and gives them the tools and motivation to be successful.
Karen Moore, Head of Education and Talent at Hair Ott said:
‘We chose HTP as they are as passionate about education as we are. Together we see each learner as an individual, and tailor make their learning experience throughout their hairdressing apprenticeship with us.”
On Monday 6th August we welcomed six new apprentices to the Hair Ott family.
